HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates junior pitcher Kirsten Pelletier was named to the First Team Thursday, as the New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its all-conference softball teams.
Pelletier (Sidney, Maine) moves up from winning Second Team All-NESCAC honors a year ago, after she posted an even more effective junior season. She finished with a 12-12 record, one save, and a 1.99 earned-run average. She leads the NESCAC in starts (23), innings (154.2) and strikeouts (145).
Pelletier also established a slew of team records, including starts in a career (60) and season (23); innings pitched in a carer (388.0) and season (154.2); strikeouts in a career (348) and season (145); and career shutouts (12).
"What KP has done for us is nothing short of remarkable," said head coach McKell Barnes on this week's Bates Bobcast podcast. "It can be easy for us to lose that perspective, because we've gotten used to her coming in and shutting down other teams and making big pitches in big spots. She has put in so much work, and we are so lucky to have her."
